One Park Many Worlds, the slogan for Bale Mountains National Park, is fitting as the park contains several unique ecosystem types including grasslands, juniper forests, afro-alpine moorlands, ericaceous scrub, cloud forests, moist tropical montane forests and natural coffee forests.
On numerous excursions in the Bale Mountains I was guided by Ayuba. Not only do I appreciate his professionalism and experience, but his company is comfortable and fun. Ayuba has extensive experience as a guide and has a keen ability to locate and identify all the birds and mammals found in the Bale Mountains. With his assistance I have been luck enough to see several rare and endemic bird species and even been able to watch a leopard stroll past our camp site. Ayuba is always prepared.

You are a great guide and were always attentive of my needs on the trip. I highly recommend your services to any other visitors coming to the Bale region. Thanks for the amazing time.

Ayuba was our trek leader when me and four friends went for a 4 day trek through Bale. It was my first time in Ethiopia and he made us feel welcome and was really helpful in getting us what we needed, preparing for our trek, pacing us in a comfortable way, and was full of useful information about the plants and animals we were exploring. His horsemen were also really helpful and kind in preparing our campsites and sharing with us traditional Ethiopian food. I highly recommend taking this trek.

I've traveled extensively in Ethiopia, and Ayuba was, without a doubt, the best guide I've had. He not only was great at identifying and describing all of the plant and wild life in the park, but also was very helpful with the logistics of the whole trip. Ayuba helped us organize our gear and planned an incredible itinerary that spanned a diverse range of the park, from highlands to lowland forest. As a group of fairly inexperienced hikers/campers,Ayuba made sure we moved at a good pace and helped us with anything we needed.you can't go wrong with Ayuba!

Once again, I would like to thank you for our extraordinary common adventure. I am sure we will meet again within 2 years or so.

Ayuba knows the Bale Mountains intimately and truly loves the ecosystem. He can instantly identify every bird call without a moment’s thought and can spot an Ethiopian wolf from a kilometer away. I was granted the ability to carry my own pack and set up my own tent despite the fact that most tourists get as much aid as they need. But had I ever needed help, I know I would have been well taken care of. Best of all, I made a friend for life and am in contact with Ayuba to this day.

It was a pleasure to have you as our guide, Ayuba Ahmed! I look forward to the next time we meet and explore another part of Ethiopia together!”
